The Davidson College Biology Department (https://www.davidson.edu/academic-departments/biology) invites applications for a one-semester Adjunct Assistant Professor position in Biology beginning January 1, 2025. The successful candidate will have or will be completing a Ph.D. in Biology (or related field), and the ability, as demonstrated through training or experience, to teach an introductory lab course in organismal, ecological, and evolutionary biology (BIO 114, Integrated Concepts in Biology II). We seek an individual who will create a welcoming learning environment in which all students can reach their potential and thrive. The adjunct professor will be responsible for teaching three hours of classroom sessions and two laboratory sections of three hours per week each (16 students per section, 32 students total, 9 contact hours total per week). We will provide all course materials and will offer mentorship and guidance for the successful candidate. Laboratory sessions will be prepared and supported by a full-time laboratory manager.
