About the Team:

The Voice & Agent Team at Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is focused on enhancing the gaming experience with intelligent voice services at scale. We provide accessibility features and intelligent voice commands (e.g., Launch/Find: [game, app, settings], Play/Pause/Resume/Forward) to make navigation easier and more enjoyable for PlayStation users. Our team leverages cutting-edge tools and the latest AI and ML models to help gamers Play More, Pause Less!

What You'll Be Doing:




  • Gain a deep understanding of the architecture and data flow of complex voice-based systems.



  • Learn the intricacies of Natural Language Understanding (NLU) and how to improve accuracy.



  • Build intelligent algorithms to evaluate complex data patterns.



  • Enhance monitoring and alerting systems by providing actionable insights on the performance of live services.



  • Write code to improve existing components, with a focus on evaluating large language models (LLMs) and ML models.



  • Contribute to the creation of technical presentations and demos.





What We're Looking For:




  • Projected to graduate by Spring 2026.



  • Enrolled in a Master's program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field with a specialization in Machine Learning.



  • Self-starter with a strong ownership mindset and the ability to complete tasks independently.



  • Strong coding skills and experience with programming languages such as Java, Golang, C#, or Python.



  • Good understanding of web-sockets, gRPC, NLU, and Machine Learning.



  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.



  • Industry experience with LLMs and ML models is a significant plus!




Eligibility:




  • Able to work during one of the following periods: May 19th - August 8th or June 16th - September 5th.



  • Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.



  • Open to students who are U.S. citizens or international students with an F-1 visa.



  • Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.





Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
