To find out more, please visit our website: Vitro Architectural Glass | Vitro Architectural Glass vitroglazings.com Oversees all facets of Vitro's Government Affairs, ensuring that Vitro products are well positioned with codes, regulations, and voluntary government programs. Manages interpersonal relations and communications concerning government affairs between Vitro associates, appropriate government representatives and government affairs consultants and stakeholders to further Vitro's position in the North American construction market. Works directly with the Sustainability Director and Vitro Sustainability team to further Vitro sustainability efforts and develop input to regulations as well as provide guidance for internal direction. Works directly with the Director, Technical Services to provide guidance for product development to meet codes and regulations and providing technical support and direction to strategic customers including product application and fabrication guidelines, enhancing Vitro's reputation as a leader in providing value-added glazing solutions. Should Vitro choose to establish a Political Action Committee, (PAC) for deeper political involvement, this position would be responsible for developing the PAC plan and implementing and managing the PAC. Responsibilities The Director, Government Affairs directs these functions for the entire Architectural Business and works externally with suppliers, customers, regulators and stakeholder organizations as well as internally, with sales, marketing, innovation group, operations, engineering, corporate continuous improvement and EHS.
Create measurable value by Advancing regulation, legislation or national government level programs such as Energy Star for Windows Doors & Skylights that creates new or expanded opportunities for Vitro's products, creates or maintains a competitive advantage for the company, or reduces costs.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years' experience in government affairs, public affairs, and political communications processes. Understanding of the glass construction industry and direct customer interaction experience is preferred. Technical comprehension and representation experience with customers is preferred. Travel is estimated at 20 to 40 percent. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in creating and delivering presentations * Highly motivated, able to work independently and in a team environment * Strong analytical skills are a plus * Requires the ability to work under tight deadlines We can recommend jobs specifically for you!
