The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Director of Marketing and Communications. This key leadership role will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy to elevate the school's reputation, enhance engagement with diverse constituents, and drive enrollment growth. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in marketing, communications, and brand management with a particular focus on digital innovation.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications plan that aligns with the school's mission, vision, and strategic goals.
  • Brand Management: Oversee the development and maintenance of the school's brand, ensuring consistency and alignment across all platforms and communications.
  • Content Creation: Lead the creation of compelling content for digital, print, and social media platforms to engage with prospective students, alumni, donors, and the broader community.
  • Media Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets to enhance the school's visibility and reputation through press releases, media pitches, and other public relations activities.
  • Digital Marketing: Manage the school's online presence, including the website, social media channels, and email marketing campaigns, ensuring content is up-to-date, relevant, and engaging.
  • Event Promotion: Oversee the promotion of events, conferences, and other public engagements, ensuring effective communication and outreach strategies are in place.
  • Internal Communications: Develop and implement strategies for effective internal communication to ensure alignment and engagement among faculty, staff, and students.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize analytics to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly to optimize results.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree and seven years of related supervisory/management experience, or a combination of education and related experience.


Preferred Hiring Qualifications:



  • Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably within higher education or a related field. Proven leadership experience is essential.


Preferred Skills:



  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with media relations and public speaking.
