JOB SUMMARY |
- Assist in the administration of project safety programs to maintain a safe and health work environment.
|
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS |
- Have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in construction Environmental Health and Safety and;
- Possess a valid OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 510 designation and/or;
- Possess an academic degree in Occupational Health and Safety and/or;
- A valid certificate as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS |
- A Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management, Environmental Safety Management, or similar field of study is preferred.
- Previous experience with electrical construction is preferred.
- Job site/field experience is preferred.
- Experience with SiteDocs is a plus.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES |
- Ability to recognize hazardous situations & recommend corrective measures is essential.
- Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule.
- Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Highly proficient in communication and public speaking and presentations; Leadership and supervisory skills are essential.
- Must maintain confidentiality and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously, changing priorities as necessary.
- Must be a team player and possess the ability to share valuable information with team members to increase department expertise.
- Must be able to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Thorough understanding of all federal, state, local, and company safety related regulations; stay up to date on regulations and best practices.
- Promote a positive safety culture in a professional manner among site supervision and workers.
- Assist in overall supervision and administration of safety, compliance, and training activities.
- Evaluate the safety of the project daily, by conducting safety inspections and audits on sites and equipment, to identify, document, and determine resolutions to hazardous and potentially hazardous and/or unsafe working conditions and behaviors.
- Respond to, investigate, provide detailed reports, and follow up on any safety related issues/incidents, including compiling data, photographs, statements, etc.
- Manage safety related documents through company and client databases.
- Assist in completion of and/or review completed JHA's, Permits, Emergency Action Plans, MOP's, SOP's, and other proactive safety related documentation.
- Assist in emergencies as needed.
- Gather facts on accidents and thefts for action by the Project Safety Superintendent.
- Periodically attend Trade Partner toolbox meetings.
- Prepare and post safety meeting minutes, issue safety bulletins, and distribute and post incident data.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION |
- Possess a valid OSHA 30 designation or the ability to obtain an OSHA 30 designation.
- Required to maintain a valid driver's license.
- Subject to the Company's drug screen and background check programs.
- May be required to submit to periodic background checks if position requires access to security sensitive business locations and/or systems.
- This position may require some travel.
