Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Configuration Manager to join our US Transportation Command - US Transportation Command - Global Transportation Planning and Groups Operational Passenger Systems (GTP) (GOPAX) team. The Configuration Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive Configuration Management (CM) support. The Configuration Manager ensures that CM processes complement existing Government standards and practices, oversees the control and maintenance of baselines, and manages configuration items including documentation, Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software, and source code. This role also includes ensuring security-focused configuration management in compliance with NIST SP 800-128 and DoD standards. The Configuration Manager will act as a liaison between the contractor and the Government, facilitating change control and ensuring that all CM activities align with mission-critical goals.

This position is onsite at Scott AFB.



Duties & Responsibilities

    Develop and maintain a Configuration Management Plan (CMP) in alignment with Government and contract requirements.
  • Ensure the CMP includes all necessary baselines, versioning, and change control processes and is updated regularly.
  • Maintain all source code, documentation, and configuration items. Ensure that accurate version control is implemented, including storing all GTP GOPAX software in the Source Code Repository Tool (SCRT) supported by GitLab.
  • Manage change control for configuration items, ensuring that all changes are reviewed and approved by the Change Control Board (CCB).
  • Act as a liaison between the Government and contractor to facilitate changes.
  • Implement security-focused configuration management processes in accordance with NIST SP 800-128 and DoD guidelines. This includes performing security scans (SCAP, ACAS, Fortify), mitigating vulnerabilities, and maintaining remediation plans to resolve findings based on risk severity.
  • Track and report the status of all configuration items, including documenting all changes made to software, hardware, and firmware. Ensure accurate CM records are maintained.
  • Conduct regular CM audits to verify that all baselines and configuration items are properly maintained.
  • Collaborate with the Government to ensure compliance with DoD STIGs, SRGs, and other security policies.
  • Update and maintain the Information System Lifecycle Management Plan to ensure that all components are upgraded or replaced prior to their end of life.
  • Provide recommendations and replacement timelines based on semi-annual reviews.
  • Work closely with development and operations teams to ensure that configuration processes are followed.
  • Collaborate with the Government to provide updates on CM processes and ensure alignment with overall program goals.


Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Must hold an active an IAT Level II certification; CompTIA Security+ CE highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Configuration Management or related roles, with a strong understanding of IT systems in a DoD environment.
  • High school diploma is required; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of configuration management processes, including version control, change control, and CM audits.
  • Hands-on experience with Source Code Repository tools such as GitLab.
  • Familiarity with enterprise CM tools like Serena Business Management (SBM).
  • Experience with security-focused CM practices, including compliance with NIST SP 800-128, and utilizing security scanning tools like Fortify, SCAP, and ACAS.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of configuration items.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience in lifecycle management, ensuring timely upgrades and replacement of system components.
