Primary Objective:

Dunwoody College of Technology currently has the need for an Automotive Instructor in the Toyota Technician Education Network (TTEN) program. The Instructor will provide classroom and laboratory training to students in our 2-year TTEN program utilizing Dunwoody and Toyota curriculum. The Instructor will initiate the teaching and learning process with a focus on continuous improvement. Create an environment in which students can accomplish the learning objectives of the course of instruction resulting in students being able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, ethics, and use of proper tools to meet industry and professional business standards.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS



  • Facilitates learning activities so that students learn the principles, theory, skills, and work ethic necessary to become proficient for entry level positions.
  • Creates a positive learning environment.
  • Monitors, assesses and advises learner on technical and academic progress and performance
  • Compile and provide reports for TTEN program.
  • Uses current academic and industry practices in assigned courses of instruction.
  • Develops and upgrades lesson material, training aids and maintains equipment within assigned course of instruction
  • Assists in the recruitment and placement of learners for TTEN internships.
  • Designs, develops and keeps current curriculum within the TTEN program.
  • Leads and maintains an effective TTEN advisory committee.
  • Participates in industry and/or professional organizations in order to maintain and enhance program health and academic integrity.
  • Assists in curriculum health improvements in the assigned program.
  • Attend technical update classes annually to maintain certifications.
  • Participate in recruiting events.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree from a 2-year accredited Automotive Service Program or documentation of Master Technician certification from major auto manufacturer
  • 5 years or more of professional industry experience
  • 1-3 years teaching experience preferred
  • Toyota Mater Technician certification preferred
  • ASE Master Technician Certification (A1 thru A8)

    • ASE L-1 preferred
    • ASE L-3 Preferred


  • Experience using Microsoft office products
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
