The successful candidate:

This is a PRN position.

  • Ensure the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedures are conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.

  • Properly handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.

  • Ensures quality patient care at all times during the operative procedure and maintenance of the sterile field.

  • Acts as a consultant to the healthcare profession, patient or caregiver regarding patient advocacy and delivery of safe, competent, and quality perioperative care.

Minimum Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist training program

Minimum Experience

  • 2 years surgical tech experience, preferred

  • Participation in continuing education programs

Required Certification/Licensure

  • Must have an active BLS certification
