The Perioperative ISD Support Manager shall be responsible for:
  • Meeting with users to determine equipment and network needs. Researching alternatives to satisfy those needs and making recommendations for hardware, software, and network protocols. Working with management to develop project plans and schedules for these projects. Working with vendors to assist management in negotiating for pricing on software, hardware, and services.
  • Supervising IS/hardware specialist staff involved in MOR operations. Communicating, administering, and enforcing hospital personnel policies and procedures. Interviewing, hiring, orienting, training, evaluating, and disciplining staff as necessary. Organizing work and work processes to meet operational needs.
  • Working closely with Desktop Specialists, Hardware specialists, Applications Team Leaders, and Network Managers to resolve issues and to set priorities. Supporting all OR video integration equipment including all hardware, image management system, repair services, and upgrades. Supporting Mobile Aspects development; maintaining ISENSIX temperature monitoring system; working with team to make sure computer supplies/hardware inventory are maintained; overseeing the Laser Safety program and ensuring laser technology is current.
  • Staying current with technology. Evaluating and recommending changes to hardware, software, and services to further the mission of the OR. Evaluating current and projected demands for services and current and projected state of the art hardware and software solutions. Coordinating and maintaining communication links, data interdependencies, and job production relationships among the various operating systems and hardware platforms. Coordinating routine activities with the Computer Operators, Application Support staff, Production Control, and others as necessary to maintain the Production Environment.
  • Performing system management activities and updates for current and future computer systems, related hardware, software, and networking components.
  • Performing product evaluations and trials as part of a continuing effort to improve productivity of existing equipment, staff time, and software systems.
  • Adhering to problem resolution and escalation procedures and taking responsibility for documenting and responding to all operating system problems and resolving them on a timely basis.

To qualify, you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration or a similar field.
  • 5-7 years of related experience.
  • Strong project management leadership skills. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, developing timelines for implementation, identifying resource needs and potential impacts, and charting their progress. Strong team building skills.
  • Able to initiate involvement and approval of Department Heads and other key individuals and groups to implement identified opportunities. Experience managing and directing staff.
  • Ability to solve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in depth, experienced based cross functional knowledge.
  • Communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, or well developed writing skills.

Demonstrated ability to take the initiative and implement new programs and procedures.
