We are seeking an ESG Regulatory & Product Material Compliance Counsel responsible for region to be based in the US or CA who will be a member of our Global Competency Center in our business function Legal and Integrity. This role will report to the Head of L&I Regulatory Affairs. Your Responsibilities: Support corporate ESG & Product Regulatory Complianceroadmap. Monitor, interpret and advise on ESG and Product Material Compliance related regulations that impact the Hitachi Energy business in general and its product portfolio in a timely manner. Prioritize, manage risks and opportunities. Align local or regional approaches with global processes and requirements, ensure consistent implementation. Drive and guide legal responses to officials, coordinate with business and functional stakeholders. Provide guidance and conduct training to internal stakeholders on ESG and Product Material Compliance regulations. Drive compliance related projects cross functionally. Embed compliance, recording and declarations into existing processes and tools (portal, SharePoint, SAP, gate models, etc.) as available. Support the establishment of new or improvement of existing processes for ESG Regulatory and Product Material Compliance. Proactively identify and resolve compliance related issues and challenges. Manage the implementation of corporate regulations and standards for ESG Regulatory and Product Material Compliance in NAM; Education & knowledge sharing. Your Background: Legal degree from an accredited law school; bar admission desirable, with minimum of 5 years' experience inhouse or in a law firm. Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States. Focus on ESG regulations and workable knowledge in Chemistry, Materials or Engineering a great plus. Excellent communication skill on all managerial and executive levels in a complex matrix organization. Ability to work and report remotely, open minded and dynamic attitude to changes; intercultural sensitivity. Experience in project and external resource management. Pro-active, outgoing, and self-driven personality, creative thinker, hands-on and problem-solving mentality to challenge "status quo". Willingness to develop the role and scope considering evolving regulatory environment. Local language, fluent English, other languages an asset. Willingness to travel (10-20%). Apply now
