Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Sterile Processing supervisor and the Director of O.R., the Sterile Processor ensures proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation, equipment, and sterilization processes. The Sterile Processor must demonstrate good knowledge of principles and practices of aseptic techniques, must have knowledge of equipment, instruments, procedures and supplies used in the operating room. The Sterile Processor must be able to work under pressure and in situations that demand patience, tact and endurance. This position must provide on-going and continual communication with Operating Room staff, including communicating special equipment needs as they arise. The Sterile Processor must also monitor the daily schedule for changes in instrumentation.

Training, Education & Experience:



  • High School graduate or GED required
  • Must be able to communicate and understand the English language both verbal and written
  • Certification in Sterile Processing is preferred
  • A minimum of one (1) year of Sterile Processing experience preferred
