Salem Hospital also is proud to offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy through its comprehensive Wound Center and is a Level III Trauma Center. The Executive Director of Perioperative Services will provide the strategic, visionary leadership and operational oversight for the entire perioperative service line, focusing on performance improvement, growing existing service lines, and building new service lines. We are looking for a seasoned nurse executive who is innovative, passionate about patient care, focused on best practices and committed to improving patient, physician and employee satisfaction, while expanding services for our community. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services, and has close, collaborative working relationships with the Chairman of Surgery, the Chairs of the Departments of Orthopedics, OB/GYN and Anesthesia. Position also closely collaborates with the Day Surgery leadership team at the Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care. S/he is responsible for the staffing resources and operating systems that support direct patient care for a designated group of services, including the OR, PACU, Endoscopy, Wound Center, PAT, Anesthesia and Pain Clinics. S/he assures that competent, compassionate patient care is uniformly provided to all patients within their areas of responsibility. The ED develops, implements, and evaluates policies, programs, and services consistent with the hospital's mission and the department's vision and philosophy. S/he provides direction and support to the department-based leadership toward attainment of short- and long-term goals and objectives. As a member of the leadership team, the ED participates in the efficient and effective management of the departments and the development of its strategic plan. Working in a collaborative partnership with physician colleagues and service line administrators, the ED ensures operational, and business strategies are developed, implemented, and evaluated against Salem Hospital's overall strategic plan.
