The Lead Supplier Quality Specialist will ensure that all materials and components supplied by external vendors meet our quality standards and specifications. This role involves conducting audits, managing supplier relationships, and assisting with implementing quality improvements initiatives to enhance overall supplier performance.
Essential Functions: Perform Quality System evaluation of supplier capability and performance, including their Quality Management System (QMS); Provide training for basic quality methodologies as necessary. Provide Quality Assurance oversight for procurement and acceptance of supplier hardware. Assess effectiveness and provide guidance to suppliers for root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action plans. Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, standards, QAR/QAP and contractual requirements. Purchase Order review and processing including application of appropriate quality provisions to PO's, SOW's etc. per contractual terms. Perform Source Inspection onsite at suppliers to review FAI inspection data, witness any testing including Acceptance Testing and perform Source Inspection of product as applicable at subcontractor/supplier facilities. Review First Article Inspection (FAI) reports provided by suppliers for accuracy and compliance to the TDP and PO. Conduct supplier evaluation survey/audits; support third party evaluation of the suppliers QMS system including ISO 9001:2015, or AS9100D. Assist maintenance of the Approved Supplier List (ASL). Understand manufacturing processes of fabricated hardware, including inspection of all welding required to comply with RENK America standards. Take lead in resolving all matters involving quality of supplied material, specifically disposition of nonconforming product thru the SQDR process including Material Review board responsibilities, and Supplier Corrective Action. Prepare periodic reports, performance metrics and presentations describing progress and activities. Monthly metrics. Perform tasks in other areas of Quality Assurance as may be assigned. Bachelors Degree in Quality Management or related field with 9 years prior related experience or Masters Degree with 7 years prior related experience. Familiar with PFMEA and Control Plans Thorough understanding and experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Experienced with Corrective action training/performance Microsoft office software skills (Excel, Word, and Power Point) required Good verbal and written communication skills Casual unpaid overtime and flexible hours may be required Must be able to travel both in-country and internationally.
