Kummer STEM Education Center

Job Description

The Assistant Director will oversee summer camp operations for the Kummer Center for STEM Education. They will work with various departments and constituents to develop new summer camps as well as oversee current summer camps. They will also oversee the development of budgets in addition to working with potential sponsors. They will work with marketing to ensure successful strategies are implemented and attendance goals are met. They will ensure all policies of the youth protection program are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee summer camp operations, including existing programs and new programs. This will include hiring, training, youth supervision and youth program entry. Following all relevant policies is an essential component of this job. Provide managerial supervision of coordinators and camp counselors
  • Work with departments to envision and build new summer camps, based on current data and feedback. Work with marketing and communications to ensure appropriate advertisement for summer camps. Identifying funding sources in addition to developing funding resources for existing and proposed programs and/or services. Work with admissions
  • Oversee budgets of summer camps and work with departments
  • Work with corporate partners for scholarships and sponsorships. Identify funding sources in addition to developing funding resources for existing and proposed programs and/or services
  • Understand how Slate, PayPath, and Google Docs are utilized for programming
  • Collaborative work with the Kummer Center for STEM Education during appropriate, overlapping events.
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Event coordination
  • Outreach or management experience
  • Familiarity with campus organizations and culture
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $52,223.00 to $65,000.00 annually.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
