About the team

Payrix by WorldPay is a modern platform that provides Payments Facilitation (PayFac) as a service with a full suite of payments and risk management services built for vertical SaaS companies. With Payrix, SaaS providers can embed payments and financial services in their native experience and add a new revenue stream in a few weeks. We have a strong product-market fit and a clear moat that has resulted in an exponential growth of 100% year over year, and we expect the trend to continue.

Payrix is part of WorldPay, who invented payment facilitation enabling technology companies to provide integrated payment solutions, significantly expanding access to modern payment methods to SMBs and rejuvenating the end-user experience.

The Core Platform engineering team manages all engineering development and support for the core products at Payrix.

What you'll own

This role will help build a modern, highly scalable, high-performance cutting-edge ledger system enabling robust financial tracking capabilities for embedded payments, lending and finance applications.

  • Deliver quickly and iterate often; concretely, this means that within your first few weeks you will bring code live that impacts many merchants.

  • You will be responsible for developing high quality code and releasing products in partnership with Product Management.

  • Identify problems and improve the platform to make it more maintainable, scalable, and resilient.

  • Collaborate across teams and time zones to make things happen, review code and give and receive feedback.

  • Work with engineers across the company to understand when existing infrastructure can be leveraged vs. when building a bespoke solution is prudent.

  • Work with members on your team to execute against both short and long-term roadmaps, making effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a maintainable technical foundation.

  • Build and deliver high quality products on time.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science from four-year accredited university using the ACM, IEEE-CS, AAAI Computer Science Curricula.

  • 5+ years of software development experience.

  • Familiar with AWS cloud platform.

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, clarity of communication when discussing technical concepts.

  • Knowledge of standards relevant to the software industry, e.g., ISO, CMM, Six Sigma.

  • Experience with Agile Software Development.

  • In-depth understanding of design patterns and their application.

  • Fluency in developing and understanding sequence diagrams, class models, etc.

  • Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines leveraging model driven design-based tools and techniques including conceptual solution component models, business process models, use cases, etc.

  • Experience with all or most of the following:

    • Cloud native development, software architecture, and design.

    • C# programming language.

    • SQL databases (SQLite preferred).

    • Pub/Sub messaging (Kafka preferred).

    • Kubernetes/Docker.

    • Take ownership of your work, follow best practices, hold yourself and others accountable.

    • Be highly self-motivated and self-sufficient, with excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Desired Experience (not required):
- Fintech or payments/banking product development.

- PHP experience.

- Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team and time management skills.

- Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take.

- Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external clients and contacts.

Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
