Job Description

YOUR OPPORTUNITY

We have Maintenance Supervisor opportunities at our Processing Plant in Guymon, OK Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance employees to assure proper maintenance and mechanic repair of machinery and equipment within the allotted budget and consistent with Seaboard policies, procedures, and FSIS regulations. Develop a competent workforce through training, communicating expectations, providing frequent feedback, and, when necessary, taking disciplinary action in accordance with Company policy. Monitor and enforce security and safety rules; follow up on equipment installed and its current operations; provide frequent feedback concerning the status of areas of responsibility. Maintain records of equipment and employee time records.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Maintain an effective and efficient preventative maintenance program capable of maintaining regular operations. Develop a competent workforce by utilizing hands-on training methods in the work area focusing on timely repair of all production machinery and equipment in the plant.
  • Maintain an effective safety awareness program, including regular departmental safety meetings. Provide timely written feedback on any injuries or accidents and make recommendations for precluding recurrence.
  • Plan for work projects, which will ensure proper materials, are ordered and available for the repair and maintenance of plant equipment, which will keep inventories at a minimum and reduce parts cost.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment and schedule preventative maintenance to assure work can be accomplished on time.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee work hours, vacation, and other absences; when necessary, take action to correct in accordance with plant policies.
  • Communicate expectations to all employees; provide direction, instructions and feedback based to employees. Follow up with appropriate recognition for good performance.
  • Develop a collaborative relationship with all departments
  • Must possess knowledge of O.S.H.A. requirements and regulations for PSM program.

QUALIFICATIONS




  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university is preferred.
  • (2) two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A minimum of four (4) years of supervisory experience in a meat processing facility, provided they possess industrial mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical experience.


  • Ability to read and interpret documents (in English) such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility.
  • The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Primarily an office environment with some need to work in the field.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is dependent on which environment you are in
  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
