Job Summary |
The Academic and Accreditation Compliance Coordinator reports directly to the Provost and is part of the Office of Academic Affairs. The
AACC is primarily responsible for ensuring timely completion and reporting of regulatory and accreditation reports, education of the campus on academic compliance and accreditation issues and addresses student complaints and petitions for exemption from university policies. The
AACC monitors and remains current on higher education trends and statutes that impact the University and existing academic policies and practices. |
Job Description |
- Assist the University Compliance Officer with academic compliance requests from auditors as applicable.
- Coordinate the updating of the undergraduate academic catalog annually and assist with the update of the graduate catalog as needed. Create catalog errata as necessary to maintain currency of academic policies and guidelines.
- Assist the completion and submission of required and task force reports to the Illinois Board of Higher Education.
- Coordinate with the Associate Provost for Academic Innovation on reporting of academic changes to the HLC (Higher Learning Commission) and Department of Education and submit when required.
- As required by various federal and state agencies, report changes in university leadership including the roles of President, Chief Financial Officer, and Financial Aid Director
- Assist in the completion and the delivery of required reports to government and accreditation bodies including the E-CAR for the renewal of the PPA (Program Participation Agreement) approximately every three years.
- Review and coordinate completion of Articulation Agreements between CSU and other academic institutions.
- Coordinate the submission of departmental responses to IAI course review requests
- Research and provide written responses to student requests for "Petition for Exception to University Policy." Confer with Registrar, Evaluations, Financial Aid, Bursar, advisors and chairpersons as needed.
- Monitor and assist in resolution of student complaints or direct to the appropriate offices. Follow up and maintain documentation as needed.
- Assist in collecting and monitoring internal reporting on specialty accreditation and University regional accreditation.
- Assist in the development and/or conducting training for different constituents on academic processes and policies.
- Develop and maintain appropriate relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff, and external regulating agencies.
- Facilitate discussions with the University General Counsel as needed to resolve research/academic-related compliance and business practice issues; conduct research and keep current on key compliance issues affecting higher education; report on a regular basis to the University Provost.
- Exhibit and maintain a high standard of ethical conduct.
- Develop data management systems to ensure timely reporting and ability to be responsive to internal and external constituents.

- Actively participate in professional development opportunities and professional organizations, as well as university-wide committees, etc.
- This position will hold for the entire College of Health Sciences that includes: Nursing, Occupational Therapy, HIA, and Pharmacy.
Experience with developing
SQL queries, creating custom reports, and analyzing data to support The Office of Institutional Effectiveness & Research to enhance organizational productivity.
- Assume other duties as assigned by the Provost.

- Bachelor's degree required in Nursing, Public Health, Business Administration, Business, Health, or Operations Information Management, Environmental or Natural Science, or other discipline related to the Healthcare field.
Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience with the standards and survey process of an organization that includes accreditation.
* As required by the position to be filled, education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent in the position may be required in meeting credential requirements #1 and #2 above.
**Applicants possessing a Master's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Business Administration, Business, Health, or Operations Information Management, Environmental or Natural Science or other discipline related to the Healthcare field meet the requirements of #1 above.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Minimum of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university preferably in higher education, counseling, social work, or related discipline is required.
- Minimum of five years of experience in higher education with data management is required.
