Position Summary:
The Loan Quality Control Specialist completes audits of direct and indirect loans, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all funded consumer loans in accordance with the Telhio consumer loan policy, and state and federal regulations. This includes verifying the accuracy of loan payoffs and the proper disbursement of loan proceeds. This role requires an individual who is comfortable reviewing Telhio systems and consumer loan documents to ensure accuracy regarding all non-real estate consumer loans. The Loan Quality Control Specialist accurately identifies, tracks and maintains consumer loan error data. This data will be provided to consumer lending and branch leadership for coaching opportunities. They also communicate effectively with the consumer lending processing team and branch staff to ensure any errors found during the auditing process are corrected.
What you will do:
- The Loan Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for functions that align with the Loan Quality Control process in daily work to ensure accuracy of all closed loans
- Understands duties and responsibilities, has necessary job knowledge, has necessary technical skills, understands credit union mission/values, keeps job knowledge current
- Reviews funded loan documents for compliance, accuracy and completeness
- Maintains knowledge of Telhio systems and tools including Meridian Link, DNA, DocuSign, and Excel
- Records any errors found and communicates with the proper teams for error resolution
- Demonstrates good time management and analytical skills to ensure timely and accurate document and data reviews
- Shows a clear understanding of Telhio Consumer Loan Policy as well as State and Federal regulations
- Actively demonstrates Telhio's Core Values when interacting with co-workers including when requesting error resolutions and follow up request
What you will need
- High School diploma or equivalent Required
- 1-3 years Banking/financial services related experience Preferred
- 1-3 years Experience in quality assurance roles Preferred
- 1-3 years Experience in loan operations or related lending, Preferred
- Knowledge of products and services, process procedures, federal and state lending regulations
- General loan knowledge is Preferred
- Skills in: Time management, Analytical thought process, Effective verbal and written communication skills, Proficient in MS Office Suite, Strong organizational skills, and Attention to detail
- Must be able to pass a background check including: Credit, Drug Screen, Criminal and bondability
