Join our dedicated and caring team of professionals and make a difference in the communities we serve as a Substance Use, Motivation, Medication Integrated Treatment (SUMMIT) SUD Counselor. This social work associate role will receive guidance and direction from our SUMMIT Director of Behavioral Health Services and SUMMIT Manager of Behavioral Health Services, and will develop and implement treatment plans with patients who use substances while utilizing a harm reduction approach to care. The SUMMIT SUD Counselor will provide a variety of interventions including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and other relevant harm reduction-related services to clients. This position plays a vital part in helping to bring the concepts of harm reduction to the clinic, the patients and the community.

Salary range: $30.53 - $40.30 Hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience and experience developing drug treatment plans.
  • Bachelor's degree in social work from program approved by the Council on Social Work Education or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and public speaking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary group/team with people of diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment, skill in managing multiple deadlines and demands, and the ability to follow through on assignments.
  • Computer skills and the ability to complete required program documentation in a timely manner using an EMR system.
  • Ability to work with adolescents and working knowledge of diverse cultures and low-income populations including the homeless.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet client needs and travel to our different site locations within LA County.

Preferred:

  • Certification as a CAADE, CADTP or CCAPP.
  • Advanced Spanish communication skills.
