Job Description Summary |
Full-time, professor of practice faculty position in the developing Doctor of Physical Therapy Program (
DPT). Expertise in neurologic, acute care, cardiopulmonary physical therapy, and/or research. |
Responsibilities |
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration, and active support of the University's Mission in Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
Reporting to the Program Director, the key responsibilities of the
DPT Program Core Faculty member include, but are not limited to:
- Leading and overseeing the planning, implementation, and assessment of foundational course content within the curriculum.
- Advising and mentoring students to support their academic and professional development.
- Participating in admissions processes, accreditation activities, faculty development initiatives, and program events.
- Engaging in scholarship and contributing to service efforts at the DPT Program, Department, College, University, and community levels.
- Performing other duties related to the program as assigned by the Program Director.

Minimum Qualifications |
-Possession of a Doctoral degree (
DPT) in Physical Therapy.
-An earned terminal doctoral degree or enrollment (PhD or an equivalent academic doctoral degree i.e., EdD, DHSc, DSc, ScD) in Physical Therapy, Health Sciences, or a related field.
-A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in physical therapy. However, consideration will be given to individuals with less than 3 years of experience if they demonstrate exceptional academic performance, scholarly achievements, or clinical accomplishments (e.g., board certification, fellowship, etc.).
-Licensed or eligible for physical therapy licensure in the state of Illinois.
-Exceptional communication skills with colleagues and entry-level
DPT students. |
Preferred Qualifications |
-Board certification in a specialized area of physical therapy (i.e., cardiopulmonary, neurologic, etc.). -Prior teaching experience in a doctoral physical therapy program.
-A well-established record of scholarly achievements.
-Demonstrated commitment to developing a successful, focused research project as an independent investigator.
-Active involvement in the physical therapy profession, or a strong interest in engaging with the
APTA and its academies and/or chapters. |
