Description Do you live and breathe community engagement? Are you a Librarian in need of a more flexible work schedule? We are hiring a part time Librarian full of creativity and passion for Library services. With a detail-oriented mindset, you will create thoughtful programming and promotional material. You lead the charge behind-the-scenes and front-and-center - as an expert in reference work, and a pro in conducting library tours and orientation programs. The hours for the librarian part-time position are as follows: Week A Monday 4:30-8:30 Tuesday 9:30-1:30 (off for Sunday) Wednesday 4:30-8:30 Thursday OFF Friday OFF Saturday 9-5:30 Sunday 1-5 (October-April) Weeks B and C Monday 4:30-8:30 Tuesday 9:30-1:30 Wednesday 4:30-8:30 Thursday OFF Friday 9-5:30 Saturday OFF Sunday OFF Examples of Duties Provide information/directional reference services. Qualifications This position requires emotional intelligence, work ethic, accountability and initiative to effectively perform the duties. Education, Training and Experience: Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited library school. Recent professional paid work experience as a Librarian or Library Assistant highly desirable. Proficient in the use of office computers and various software packages including, but not limited to, Windows and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Outlook, Calendaring) etc.; some recent experience utilizing online databases.
