About the Position
The Operations and Maintenance division is a customer-driven team providing day-to-day maintenance and successful operation of all County Facilities. FMD is seeking a full-time skilled Electrician to perform journey-level activities, which may include installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. We are seeking a candidate who will deliver quality work and have a strong focus on customer service to join our O&M team. The workgroup consists of numerous crafts and specialty trades where teamwork is a priority, working in county buildings 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We Require
Three years of journey-level experience in commercial and or industrial electrical work environment High School Diploma or GED Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational education in the electrical field may substitute for one year of the experience requirement Must complete a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) and MCSO background investigation and TOC certification to access County detention facilities Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire and have an acceptable driving record

Working Conditions
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license and have an acceptable driving record by the time of hire Duties require lifting/deadlifting (floor to waist) of up to 50 pounds; bending, twisting, squatting, pushing, or pulling is required of up to 100 pounds, up to 100 feet while navigating through equipment rooms, on building rooftops, and in restrictive areas. Must be able to safely climb ladders, scaffolding, and step stools in the execution of duties. Requires bending, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling in all indoor and outdoor environments. Exposure to heights and uneven walking surfaces for the purpose of inspecting elevated building equipment. Incumbent may encounter some temperature extremes, confined areas, high noise levels, dim lighting, dust or smoke, potential contagious diseases, and traumatic subject matter. Working in jail environments and in hot/humid conditions on a regular basis. Exposure to various forms of hazardous energy sources relating but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software, and Hardware
Must be proficient with and capable of using basic hand tools, benders, cordless power tools, and electrical testing equipment, including multimeter, clamp meter, megohmmeter, circuit tracer, etc. Must be capable of working with aerial lifts upon completion of county-provided training
Protective Equipment Required
Special working environments include but are not limited to
Adult and juvenile detention facilities; medical facilities in both detention and public health; forensics; courts and related justice facilities. This position may require a rotating on-call/stand-by schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
