Job Description:

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Long-term Intern - HRIS to join our HR Digital Transformation department based in Herndon, VA.

The Airbus HR Digital team is seeking an intern with strong creative abilities to assist with initiatives of North America: communication strategies, documentation of testing processes and training materials with our Workday HCM/Payroll implementation. The intern selected for this role will also support Google Sites and maintain files that support the HR Digital organization.

This role offers the opportunity to support high-visibility HR projects, interact with business management and HR, and create deliverables for the highest levels of leadership in a major corporation.

This is a great opportunity to gain meaningful experience with Human Resources and HRIS systems.

Your Working Environment:

The Washington, D.C. metro area is home to multiple Airbus offices: In our nation's capital you will find the Airbus Experience Center, a collection of interactive, multimedia exhibitions highlighting the extensive role the company plays in the aviation, aerospace and defense industries in the U.S. and around the world. The D.C. area is also home to our regional corporate headquarters - located adjacent to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) - it makes flying in a breeze!

Your Challenges:
  • GSite design and maintenance
  • Workday HCM/Payroll testing and documentation
  • Creating presentations
  • Assist with building training materials
  • Must be current located in the DC metro area and able to be physically onsite for 2 days a week for the internship opportunity
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited degree program or Associates degree or higher with a college, required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, required
  • Initiative, energy and the willingness to learn are essential to being successful in this position. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form with internal customers, required
  • Ability to learn different software programs quickly, preferred
  • Some office work environment experience, preferred
  • Some experience using Workday HCM, preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form in English, required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications Google Suite applications, required
Your Boarding Pass:
  • Must be currently located in the DC Metro/NoVA area
  • Currently enrolled and pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • Willing and able to be onsite in Herndon, VA for the summer internship period, if not already local to the area
  • Experience working with Human Resources is a plus
  • Experience in Workday systems is a plus
  • Experience working with UX and Web Design is a plus
  • Completed coursework in Web Design
  • Experience using Google Suite of Tools is desirable, but not required
  • Must be technically savvy
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency and enjoyment working with data
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Effective communication of complex ideas to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to work autonomously in a virtual environment
  • Previous Airbus internship experience, preferred

Desired Skills:

  • Website Design
  • Google Sites
  • Instructional Design, curriculum development, delivery, and program coordination
