About our group:

The Seagate Research group is responsible for analyzing how data is generated, transported, and stored from creation to archive. By gaining deep insight into all aspects of data from creation through analysis and storage, the team identifies ways to improve Seagate's products as well as identifying new market opportunities.

About the role - you will:

  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions
  • Work to develop proof of concepts for IOT 4.0 or Edge AI


  • Work with the research team to deliversoftware on-time and of high quality

This position will involve helping improve network fault tolerance and enhance one of our on-premise->cloud projects. The qualified candidate will be working with the research team to develop asynchronous network code and assisting with developing the fault tolerance capabilities. We are also looking to the prospective individual to assist in leveraging this capability as a springboard to help us throttle upload bandwidth. The candidate may also assist other team members in projects that involve ruggedizing SSD platforms, recycling memory for use in the cloud environment, and helping understand workloads in a gaming environment to assist in developing the next generation of gaming devices.

The estimated base wage range for this position is $20 - $35/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Seagate also offers Interns paid time off, including 12 holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave. The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.
