The Birth Tissue Coordinator:




  • Leads the acquisition of birth tissue for transplant.
  • Works as liaison for birth tissue donation for participating hospitals.
  • Performs daily services within the hospitals as a clinical advocate for the birth tissue mothers and for the proper collection, storage, and handling of birth tissue.

Required



  • Bachelor's degree in related field or relevant medical experience required.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of all positions.
  • Must be guided by the highest level of integrity and people-centered care.


Work Environment and Physical Activities



  • Must be able to meet minimum on-call requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Overnight travel may be required, including flights on commercial aircraft.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be considered insurable by Solvita insurance provider.
  • Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and greater than 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • We began in Dayton in 1964 as the region's first centralized blood bank. Solvita collects and provides all blood products for hospitals in our 15-county region and beyond.


  • The tissue bank was born in 1986 and is now one of the nation's largest tissue banks. Solvita recovers, processes, and distributes human tissue grafts and is the nation's largest non-profit provider of skin grafts for burn patients.
