Job Description:

The Role:

Our site in Decatur, TX is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join our team.

Perform tasks directly related to the production duties involved with processing raw materials, green forming billets, and processing carbon billets to be used for graphite, silicon carbides, and other specialty materials. Depending on the department a Process Technician will work with the following: conversion furnace, impregnating vessel, purity process, graphitizer, bake furnace and other equipment and processes related to the production of carbon and graphite.

HOURS FOR THIS POSITION ARE A ROTATING 12 HOUR MONTHLY SHIFT SCHEDULE, 6AM-6PM and 6PM-6AM.

What You'll do:

  • Safely and efficiently operate various manufacturing machines and equipment, including but not limited to high temperature furnaces, bandsaws, mills, sanders, air mills, forklifts, and cranes.

  • Conduct quality checks at different stages of the manufacturing process to ensure products meet established quality standards and specifications.

  • Identify and resolve minor equipment malfunctions and participate in routine maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain equipment in optimal condition.

  • Manage raw materials and finished products, ensuring they are properly stored, handled, and transported to maintain product integrity.

  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, including data on machine operation, product output, and quality control checks.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.

  • Collaborate with other team members, including engineers and production supervisors, to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing guidelines to consistently produce high-quality products.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and increased productivity.

  • May be tasked with preventative maintenance, housekeeping or other duties.

What We Seek:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Mechanical and/or technical experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Astute attention to detail to drive Safety and Quality.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.

  • Ability to perform visual checks and handle materials responsibly while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs daily.

  • Ladder work and long periods of time standing may be needed.

  • Must be able to pass respiratory fit mask test.

  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical.

  • Experience in working in an ISO 9000/14000 environment a plus.

  • Dependability with flexibility to work shifts, over-time, and weekends to support business needs.

  • Candidate must have the capacity to comply with the federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control laws.
