Description

We are looking for a Temporary Secretary/Front Office Support staff member!
Temporary role (6 weeks), Monday-Friday (40-42hrs/week), with possibility of staying on PRN after the 6 weeks.

JOB TITLE: Secretary/Front Office Support

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
1. Greet patients upon arrival and check patients in on a daily basis.
2. Collect all co-pays/ coinsurances and back balances from patients if applicable.
3. Obtain photo ID and insurance card to be scanned into system.
4. Verify and set correct insurance to the chart in Next Gen for appropriate billing.
5. Attach correct billing data to each encounter at check in and resolve each claim edit as applicable at check out.
6. Check patients out as needed to assist with patient flow.
7. Ensure that applicable procedures/studies are scheduled/preop instructions are given
8. Prepare deposits.
9. Prepare end of day packet.
10. Send all paperwork to appropriate departments via inter-office mail.
11. Confirm appointments for the following business day as needed.
12. Assist with office duties that can be performed at the check in/out desk.
13 Assist with maintaining a pristine office.
14 Maintain a neat and clean work environment.
15 Scan documents to EMR.
16 Follow up on pathology reports.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Direct supervision from Practice Administrator and Office Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Must arrive prior to start time in order to become situated before patient's arrival.
2. Perform all office duties required.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma, with 1-2 years experience in healthcare background

KNOWLEDGE:
1. Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
2. Knowledge of computer systems, programs.
3. Knowledge of medical terminology.

SKILLS:
1. Must be able to multi - task.
2. Must be able to express compassion and kindness to patients calling and being seen in the office.
3. Must maintain a professional and upbeat attitude
4. Skill in written and verbal communication and customer relations.

ABILITIES:
1. Ability to work with effectively with medical staff, Management, authorizations, external agencies and patients.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal busy office environment with much patient contact.
