About the Job:

As the Manager of DevOps, you will be responsible for leading and managing the DevOps team, ensuring the successful deployment, maintenance, and improvement of our software development and deployment processes. This role involves collaborating with development, operations, and quality assurance teams to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Your strategic vision, technical expertise, and leadership skills will be instrumental in driving innovation, ensuring quality, and delivering value to our customers.

In This Role, You Will:

Leadership and Team Management:



  • Lead and mentor the DevOps team, promoting a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Develop and implement DevOps strategies and best practices to improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure and configuration management to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to enhance system reliability, performance, and security.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for processes, systems, and procedures.



Technical Strategy and Execution:



  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and quick recovery.
  • Oversee the management of version control systems, build automation, and deployment tools.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve DevOps practices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and security protocols.
  • Champion best practices in software engineering, ensuring adherence to coding standards, architectural principles, and development methodologies.



DevOps Practices and Innovation:



  • Manage budgets and resources related to DevOps initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to team members, helping them grow both professionally and personally.
  • Drive recruitment efforts to attract top talent, conduct interviews and making hiring decisions aligned with team goals and company values.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement, empowering team members to explore new ideas, technologies, and approaches.



Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:



  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including executives, product owners, and customers, to gather requirements, prioritize initiatives, and communicate progress.
  • Present technical updates, project milestones, and roadmap plans in a clear and concise manner, fostering transparency and alignment across the organization.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on related technical matters, providing insights and recommendations to inform decision-making.

Required:



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in a DevOps or related role, with a strong understanding of software development and IT operations.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.



Location: This is a hybrid in-office role in Charlotte, NC
