Workday Engagement Manager (Higher Education)

The Cognizant Workday Practice is seeking an Engagement Manager with successful end-to-end medium to large ERP implementation experience in a consulting environment for our thriving Higher Education Portfolio practice.As an Engagement Manager,you'llact as the face of the project, tasked with successfully leading Workday implementations from beginning to end with our Higher Education clients.You'llcommunicate and address any budget or resourcing constraints, while keeping in mindourcustomer'ssatisfaction, and the project'ssuccess andprofitability. This individual enjoys being a leader, manager, and mentor to others and thrives on customer, company, and team accomplishment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become an expert inCognizant'sCynergy(Workday)Implementation Methodology and use it on all engagements, while demonstrating competency in the Workday product suite- HCM, Payroll, Financials, and/or Student.
  • Manage 1 - 2 large Workday product implementations in the Project Manager role.
  • Participate in the sales cycle when requested to gather requirements, formulate delivery approach, and develop a proposal/SOW.
  • Ensure projects are properly planned and staffed.
  • Track issues and risks, communicate status,and escalate concernsappropriately, while working with the client project manager to identify/resolve all issues that could impact project scope and/or timeframes.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring toother Collaborativeconsultants.
  • Ensure the project is delivered within the budget outlined in the SOW.
  • Present client with change ordersto address changes in scope, timeline or cost that isdifferentfromthe SOW.
  • Present at Executive Steering Committee meetings.
  • Work withWorkday'sDelivery Assurance to ensure compliance with checkpoints.
  • Assist in the transition of the customer from professional services to product support.
  • Ensure the client can serve as a reference upon completing theirimplementation, andidentify opportunities to position other service offerings.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Successful project management experience leading medium to large ERP implementations, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Previous Workday experience strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Prior experience working with colleges and universities preferred.
  • Knowledgeof ERP, specifically HCM, Finance, and Payroll.
  • A practitioner background in HR, Finance, or Payrollis a plus.
  • PMP a plus.
  • Minimal travel required, but must be willing to travel on-site if needed.
