General Responsibilities |
The transcript evaluation specialist administratively supports all aspects of the transcript evaluation process, including: intake, processing, and imaging of official transcripts and student change of major forms; monitoring the transcript specialist email inbox and phone line; and maintaining the transcript evaluation tracking system. Responsible for documentation, data entry, and reporting as related to transcript evaluation. Works closely with academic advisors, transcript evaluators, and other staff to provide timely and accurate information. Serves as the primary point of contact for students with questions regarding the transcript evaluation process. |
Work Performed |
* Provides administrative support to the transcript evaluation team including document downloads, data entry, imaging, workflow management, and reporting.
* Manages all incoming official transcripts, both electronic and mailed, from a variety of sources. Verifies incoming documents for authenticity and matches to the appropriate student record.
* Maintains the transcript evaluation tracking system and data checks for accuracy.
* Processes student Change of Major forms.
* Responds to email and phone inquires by staff and students. Manages the transcript evaluation e-mail inbox.
* Serves as a resource for faculty, staff, and students with questions about the transcript evaluation process.
* Verifies enrollment-related credentials and documents appropriately in student information system.
* Attends staff development activities and maintains current knowledge of state requirements related to transfer evaluation process and procedures.
* Other duties as assigned related to the support of student transfer evaluation and reporting. |

* Minimum Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. All degrees must be from a recognized institutional accreditor.
* 1 year experience in an academic setting preferred.
* Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
* Demonstrated competency in organizing data and preparing reports.
* Demonstrated proficiency with technology to include student information
systems software and Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel). This position utilizes Excel extensively.
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; confidence speaking with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and set priorities to achieve goals and objectives.
* Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of work-related information and materials while abiding by state and federal privacy laws including
FERPA.
