Okta is seeking a People Analytics Staff Data Analyst. In this newly created role, you will develop and oversee a standard approach and operations for Okta's People Analytics data management, data engineering, and data architecture practices. You will partner with our team and Business Operations colleagues to identify ways to establish foundational architecture and scalable processes that enable data integrity and fidelity across multiple systems and data sources. We are looking for someone with a solid technical background, passion for data, and ability to partner across various HR business functions.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Minimum 7 years in People Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Data Engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience with SQL (relational databases, data validation, writing efficient code)
  • 3-5 year experiences in designing and maintaining high-quality reporting and visualizations in Tableau
  • Experience with Workday, Fivetran, and Snowflake
  • Experience architecting data flows and data models for performance and scale
  • Proven track record applying innovative solutions to complex database challenges and a solid problem-solving mindset in a dynamic operational environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data performance issues and outages promptly
  • Excellent business partnering skills and an ability to work across multiple business levels
  • This role will be based in Bellevue, WA or Chicago, IL and will occasionally require you to come onsite.


What you'll work on:



  • Oversee our People Analytics data architecture integrations in partnership with our corporate Data & Insights and Business Technology teams
  • Oversee a small team of People Analytics contingent workers
  • Design, develop, and deliver dashboards that meet stakeholder requirements and are consistent across the People Analytics product offerings
  • Manage existing dashboards by monitoring ongoing functionality, implementing new requests, and performing operational updates
  • Produce technical documents that track new releases and communicate change impact
  • Partner across teams to identify areas of opportunity to automate business processes and manual tasks
  • Proactively identify processes for improvements, standardization, and institutionalization
  • Implement and own the corporate standards and best practices across the team on data governance, privacy, and security
  • Assess and implement new data technologies and tools
  • Collaborate with People & Places teams to understand priorities and provide actionable and accurate reports

Below is the annual On Target Compensation (OTE) range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual OTE, which is inclusive of base salary and incentive compensation, will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable) and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual OTE range for this position for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:
$124,000 $186,000 USD
