The practice is currently seeking a full-time Optometrist for its brand-new location in Modesto, California. This is a prime opportunity to join a well-respected practice known for providing exceptional care. Why join us? Sylvan Eye Associates is home to the largest modern eyecare facility in Stanislaus County. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and supported by a team of sixteen professionals, the practice specializes in providing complete eye exams, diabetic eye evaluations, contact lenses, glasses, glaucoma testing, and pre- and post-operative cataract and Lasik care. The practice also features a diverse array of contact lenses and eyeglass frames to cater to the distinctive preferences and budget requirements of each patient. Looking ahead, the practice wants to maintain excellent patient care while building the practice with the current and future staff.

What you'll do: You'll engage in full-scope optometry, providing care to patients of all age groups and visual and medical conditions. You will educate patients on their ocular health, recommend vision-enhancing products and offer personalized care. On average, you will treat two to three patients per hour, with a mix of refraction, contact lenses fittings, and/or medical exams depending on the scope of practice and needs of the office.

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

Doctor of Optometry degree, O.D. including Third Party Administrator (TPA) certificate of licensure

1-3 years of clinical practice experience with current knowledge of Optometric technology and practices; new graduates are encouraged to apply

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong management, leadership, and organizational skills

Strong business aptitude, self-discipline, and ability to deliver outstanding patient service

Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties

Working Conditions

The working environment is generally favorable, lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
