Position Summary |
Join our team as a Human Resources Generalist and become a key player in our dynamic HR team! In this pivotal role, you'll offer cross-functional support to foster high-quality HR outcomes. You'll lead and assist in HR projects and processes, such as policies and procedures, workers' compensation, employee engagement, and classifications. You'll be accountable for audit requests for information, HR regulatory compliance, and annual state and federal reporting requirements.
As an HR Generalist, you will contribute to our Human Resources operational excellence team by strategically collaborating to support essential HR functions and partnering with the various
UNCA departments.
You will provide daily, professional Human Resource services to our university staff, faculty, and students. Your focus will be on delivering high-performance, compassionate, and purpose-driven services for a diverse workforce, aligning with the institution's vision, mission, values, and strategic goals. |

Required Education/Experience/Skills |
Graduation from a four-year college or university; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. |
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills |
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, coupled with relevant experience.
- Proficient in HR administration.
- Skilled in the use of human resources software.
- Capable of managing onboarding and offboarding activities and processes.
- Well-versed in federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Experienced in handling sensitive or confidential information discreetly.
- HR certifications are advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Apps.
- Competent in prioritizing and organizing tasks in a fast-paced office environment, meeting deadlines, and representing the Office of Human Resources with professionalism.
