Your Job

The Applications Engineer (AE) will report to the Associate Global Product Manager and will work closely with external customers/prospects and collaborate internally with engineering, manufacturing, and quality departments. The AE will be the primary point of contact for customers to provide technical support, identify other products/applications that may benefit the customer and recognize new product opportunities. The AE will engage engineering/manufacturing to determine the viability of new product opportunities and assist in the request for quotation process. The ASE will also serve as the liaison between customers and the company's quality department for any potential quality concerns.

This role does not entail cold-calling and is not commission-based. It is an in-house technical sales/support role with 5% travel to other Molex and/or customer locations. This role is remote eligible with preference to sit in Phoenix, AZ - other locations may be considered for the right candidate.

Our Team

Polymicro & FiberGuide Industries are Molex Brands, and part of Koch Industries, manufacturers for optical fibers, fiber assemblies, fused silica capillary tubing and other micro-components for the medical device and analytical instrument industries.

What You Will Do

  • Contribute to a positive customer experience by responding to technical inquiries, requests for quotation and sales orders from both existing and potential customers
  • Serve as the point of contact for customers to correctly identify the appropriate products for their applications
  • Identify customer needs/specifications that could lead to the creation of new products
  • Effectively communicate customer specifications to engineering and manufacturing
  • Initiate and monitor the preparation of quotations, sales orders and return authorizations
  • Gather and share market/competitive intelligence with site leadership
  • Strive to achieve mutually beneficial "win-win" outcomes between Molex and customers

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Scientific discipline
  • At least 3 years of sales, sales support, and/or customer service experience
  • Experience using verbal and written communication with cross functional teams as well as internal and external customers
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Sales experience in a technical manufacturing field
  • Experience working in a medical (ISO9001/ISO13485-certified) manufacturing facility
  • SAP experience

This role is not eligible for VISA sponsorship.

For this role, we anticipate paying $65,000- $75,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
