Georgia-Pacific Talladega Lumber is now hiring Machine Setter.

Salary
* Starting pay is at $ 23.50/hour or better, based on experience.
* You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the mill.

Shift
* Rotating Shift (5:20 - 5:30)
* Rotating every 2 weeks from days to nights.
* Only candidates who are flexible and available to work any shift will be considered. This will include overtime, holidays, and weekend based on the needs of the mill and necessary planer maintenance.

What You Will Do
* Primary responsibility for the Planer Operator role in the Planer Mill ensuring the Planer Machine Center is in safe operational condition.
* Daily set-up and operation of the Planer to include changing and jointing of knives, operation of computer driven production systems (HMI), detailed troubleshooting, equipment repair, and quality inspections to ensure performance and reliability.
* Performing all preventative and corrective maintenance on the Planer Machine Center.
* Maintaining inventory of parts, and ordering parts as needed, for the planer machine.
* Helping meet or exceed production and quality goals while optimizing equipment to reduce waste.
* Perform housekeeping functions to aid in keeping machinery running smoothly, reduce safety and fire hazards, maintain environmental controls, and maintain the appearance of the plant.
* Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures and actively participating in the safety program.
* Train and develop coworkers to operate the Planer Machine Center.
* Prepares work orders after finishing each job for any follow-up or corrective actions requiring maintenance assistance.
* Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Leadership.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications):

* 1- 3 years' experience in a mechanical maintenance, lumber planer or lathe operator role.

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Qualifications):
* Experience performing machine maintenance and equipment setup.
* Experience independently operating the Planer Machine Center.
* Basic to intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), MPS or another CMMS program.
