Category Manager: Works with retailers and other suppliers to implement sales promotion and marketing programs by performing the following duties.Strategizes with retailers and other suppliers to create shelving space plans within accounts. Prepares and presents periodic business reviews to chain managers and executives. Designs cold boxes for corporate chains/independents. Collaborates with chain managers and inter-company personnel on the placement of new products. Takes the lead in communicating with sales force regarding upcoming initiatives. Builds rapport and engages actively with store owners/managers. Ability to travel in assigned area up to 80% of the work week. Understands products and create schematics best suited for the retailer, including established sales techniques and execution. Job Description Primary Location: Salt Lake City, UtahParticipates in resets at retail accounts taking a leading role in the schematic being executed correctly. Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts and apply concepts such as fractions and percentages. REASONING ABILITY Ability to identify and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Proficient in basic computer skills, including data retrieval from host computer and Personal Computer software applications for word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations. Must possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively establish rapport and promote a positive business image with customers and suppliers. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must meet company driver qualifications.
