A C5ISR Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of electrical systems that support Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) operations. The job involves ensuring that the electrical and electronic systems used in military or defense-related environments are reliable, efficient, and secure.

Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer (C5ISR)

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Design & Development:
    • Design and develop electrical systems, circuits, and components for C5ISR platforms, including communication, surveillance, and combat systems.
    • Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and interface designs for military-grade systems.
    • Implement power distribution systems, electrical control systems, and high-performance circuit designs.
  2. System Integration:
    • Integrate C5ISR electrical systems with other subsystems, ensuring compatibility and seamless operation across platforms.
    • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems in both lab and field environments.
    • Ensure that systems meet required performance standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810).
  3. Maintenance & Upgrades:
    • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and modification of existing electrical and electronic systems.
    • Provide engineering support for upgrades and modernization of C5ISR systems.
  4. Technical Documentation:
    • Prepare and review technical documentation, including specifications, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures.
    • Write detailed reports and provide recommendations for system improvements.
  5. Project Management:
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical engineers, software engineers, etc.) on C5ISR projects.
    • Manage project timelines, budgets, and technical milestones to ensure successful delivery of engineering solutions.
  6. Compliance & Testing:
    • Ensure that all electrical designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
    • Lead testing procedures, including environmental testing, electromagnetic interference (EMI) testing, and validation of system performance.
  7. Problem Solving:
    • Identify and resolve complex electrical engineering challenges in C5ISR systems.
    • Apply advanced engineering principles to enhance the reliability and performance of C5ISR equipment in harsh environments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Ten years of experience or greater is preferred
  • Experience in electrical design and development in the defense or military sector.
  • Proficiency with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, PSpice).
  • Knowledge of C5ISR systems and their operational requirements.
  • Familiarity with relevant military standards (e.g., MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
