Title: EHS Technician Location: Plano, TX, 75024 Shift: 7 am - 4 pm Mon- Fri Duration:6 months Duties: Assists with the ongoing maintenance of the Environmental Management System (EMS) elements, periodic documentation reviews, and supports the waste management efforts such as monitoring waste collection, waste storage and waste disposal of materials as per / Federal, State & Local regulations. Position Overview: The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Technician provides support to the EHS team in ensuring the well-being of employees and promoting a safe and sustainable work environment. The EHS Technician primarily assists with the ongoing maintenance of the Environmental Management System (EMS) elements, periodic documentation reviews, and supports the waste management efforts such as monitoring waste collection, waste storage and waste disposal of materials as per Federal, State & Local regulations. Key Responsibilities: * Support the EMS ISO 14001 certification process and its maintenance. Responsible for assigned duties and tasks as defined by the EMS and completing various environmental reports in a timely manner. * Coordinate periodic reviews of EMS / EHS documents, SOPs, Work Instructions and forms. Assist with the development, update, peer review and approval of new EMS / EHS documentation. * Track the generation of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals for waste disposal, including weekly audits, inventories, and coordination of proper disposal. * Assist with updating EHS metrics and dashboards, collecting, tracking, and reporting environmental data in the global EHS platforms, and maintaining SDS management system. * Assist with projects to improve site's environmental sustainability metrics. * Support the delivery of EHS training programs, including new hire orientations, specialized training sessions, and refresher courses. * Coordinate team inspections and audits of areas to identify and assess potential safety and environmental concerns. * Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. * Participate as needed with EHS committee responsibilities, EHS awareness campaigns and program roll outs. * Support supervisors and managers in implementing safety initiatives and fostering an EHS- conscious culture. * Act as a resource for EHS-related inquiries, concerns, and suggestions from employees. Qualifications and Requirements: * Education and/or Experience: Minimum of an Associate degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field. * 2-3 years of experience in the EHS field, experience working within manufacturing industry preferred * Ability to navigate and interpret EMS standards and EHS regulations preferred. * Proficient in using various PC-based software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. Experience: 1-3 years of experience in the EHS field, experience working within manufacturing industry preferred. Ability to navigate and interpret EMS standards and EHS regulations preferred. Key Skills: Documents Management, Compliance and Reporting, Hazard Identification and Risk Management, Employee Engagement and Communication, reviewing polices & procedures, Excel proficient, EHS and OHS hands on experience is a plus Preferred Experience: Ability to navigate and interpret EMS standards and EHS regulations. Able and willing to learn while on-the-job and effectively work on multiple assignments concurrently Computer Skills Proficient in using Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer) Education:.
