Position description

The Graduate School of Management at UC Davis is seeking a dynamic and passionate lecturer to teach a graduate-level courses in our Industry Immersion Programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-impact education on specific industries or company functions, advising students on career strategies, and fostering relationships between the UC Davis and industry leaders. This role will focus on equipping MBA students with the knowledge, skills, and connections necessary to successfully transition into leadership roles in their desired industries.

At the Graduate School Management, we are currently focusing developing short courses that train our students to succeed in the following industries and functional roles.

* Food & Agriculture

* Biotechnology

* Sustainable Energy

* Technology Finance

* Healthcare

* Product Management

* Marketing Research

Lecturers will be responsible for for developing and delivering "Topics Courses" in their area.

Key Responsibilities include:

* Course Development: Develop and teach courses that focus on industry-specific trends, leadership development, networking strategies, and professional growth for MBA students.

* Course deliver: Foster an inclusive, engaging, and dynamic learning environment with practical exercises, and hands-on projects.

* Career Advising: Provide career coaching to MBA students, offering tailored guidance on job search strategies, personal branding, interview preparation, and long-term career planning.

* Industry Engagement: Foster strong relationships with corporate partners, alumni, and industry leaders to provide students with networking opportunities, internships, and career placement support.


Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

  • Applicant must have earned an MBA or a PhD in Economics or related field.

    • Applicant must have at least five years of post-graduate full-time work experience.



Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)

  • Teaching experience
  • Strong industry connections
