Position Summary
The IT Infrastructure Lead will supervise the infrastructure team and be responsible for monitoring the network infrastructure and related systems for performance and integrity, ensuring that all systems are kept current regarding patch levels, software revisions, and feature sets. Candidates should be customer-oriented and proactive in anticipating and resolving problems while maximizing efficient use of computing resources. This position requires someone that can follow a problem to its resolution and assist with providing root cause for severe and recurring issues. This position is located in downtown Houston, TX and reports to the IT Infrastructure Manager. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Job Functions
- Take part in the design, deployment, and support of company networks, ensuring best practices for network resiliency
- Supervise a team of infrastructure engineers, providing guidance and mentorship
- Manage escalated support tickets, ensuring proper SLA is maintained for each ticket, and providing proper follow-up with end users
- Operate networking technology including routing, switching, subnets, virtual private networks, and software-defined wide area network and integrate with the computer infrastructure
- Schedule and perform upgrades as needed to all infrastructure/security hardware and software
- Utilize change management when performing tasks and projects, ensuring proper documentation, knowledge sharing, and communication
- Support, manage, and deploy virtual machines (VMs) and storage solutions
- Understand datacenter configurations, ensuring efficient and reliable operations of all physical and virtual infrastructure components
- Possess a practical understanding of various enterprise technologies such as Email and Email Security, including spam filtering, Advance Threat Protection, backup and recovery, productivity and collaboration, databases, and various cloud offerings
- Develop and maintain network diagrams and documentation
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity best practices and actively monitor for potential threats to ensure the security and integrity of the organization's systems and data
- Participate in the infrastructure budget management process
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments on systems and networks, identify weaknesses, and recommend security improvements
- Take part in the implementation and testing of DR infrastructure
- Prioritize tasks and projects as required in a fast-paced environment
- Act as an escalation point for other support teams
- Provide in-person and remote technical support to users
- Maintain an inventory of deployed hardware, software installations, and available equipment
- Work with hardware and software vendors to resolve issues and implement new products
- Have experience with Network Analysis Tools
- Manage incident tickets, ensuring proper SLA is maintained for each ticket, and providing proper follow-up with end users
- Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages
- Participate in an on-call rotation, being available outside regular business hours to promptly address critical incidents

Minimum Qualifications
- College degree in Information Systems or related field
- 8 years of related network and security related experience
- Experience with EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, DNS, SNMP, SSL VPN, IPSec, DMVPN, MPLS, HSRP, TCP/UDP, and other internet associated protocols
- Experience with VPN technologies (DMVPN, IPSec, SSL, AnyConnect, AOVPN)
- Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, and Meraki routers, wireless, firewalls and switches, wireless devices
- Experience with Cisco ISE and Umbrella
- Working knowledge of virtual environments, such as Vmware vSphere and other virtualization technologies
- Implemented, configured, and maintained cloud voice solutions
- Experience with SSO, MFA, IAM, radius, certificates
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and incident management
- Knowledge of networking and security in datacenter, virtual, and cloud environments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company

- Ability to problem solve and assist while having a great customer service attitude
- Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 50 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Jira or related incident management and asset management software
- Ability to troubleshoot Windows client operating systems
- Prior experience working in the oil and gas industry
- Cisco Certifications (CCNP)
