Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the J Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Handles the administrative work in the Department of Russian and Soviet Nonconformist Art.
- Prepares and oversees financial documents.
- Submits travel expense reports for reimbursement.
- Assists with putting together annual department budgets and tracking the budget.
- Keeps track of department activities and statistics.
- Writes special and annual reports.
- Assists with exhibition and program coordination.
- Handles mail distributions and department mailing list.
- Handles graduate assistants' and postdoc's appointment processes, travel needs and schedules.
- Handles overall office management.
- Facilitates department purchasing and maintains knowledge of Rutgers Procurement Policy.

- High organizational skills.
- Attention to details.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good writing skills in English.
- Interest in the Russian and Eastern Europe area.
- Previous experience in a cultural or educational institution an asset.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Three (3) years of experience in office administration and management.
- Knowledge of Russian.
- Familiarity with a language from any of the former Soviet Republics.
