The Director of Information Technology will lead and direct all IT initiatives within Georgia Cancer Specialists, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and the protection of corporate assets. This role will work closely with executive leadership, departmental managers, and internal teams to prioritize and execute IT projects, manage vendor relationships, oversee device management, and manage the IT budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Direction:
    • Provide strategic leadership for IT initiatives, aligning departmental goals with business objectives.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership and management teams to ensure data protection and asset management.
  • Project Management:
    • Prioritize and direct technical and software projects within the IT department.
    • Oversee the planning and execution of GCS projects required for adherence to the MIPS Quality Program, including research and implementation of EHR modifications for successful reporting to CMS.
  • Financial Management:
    • Manage financial responsibility for all IT projects and supported services.
    • Develop and oversee the IT budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and compliance with financial constraints.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Establish and maintain relationships with IT vendors and manage contract negotiations.
  • Team Management:
    • Lead the IT department staff, assigning work, evaluating competencies, and managing training and development.
    • Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
    • Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for systems and networks.
    • Conduct regular testing and updates of recovery initiatives and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of healthcare IT experience in leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of CMS MIPS Quality Program requirements and EHR systems.
  • Excellent financial management skills with experience in budget development and oversight.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Experience with vendor management and contract negotiations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
