The anticipated salary range for this role is between $85,000.00and $170,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

SMBC Capital Markets Inc. is hiring a software engineer in the Software Development department. This position is in support of mid-office, finance and operations functions.

Role Objectives
  • Responsible for participating in the technical design of all aspects of software solutions for the Capital Market business. This includes both in-house and external application.
  • This individual is usually on a team of mission critical projects and provides the technical expertise for development environment, technology architecture and implementation.
  • This individual also works together with the business users and analysts to ensure the applications meet users' specification and requirements.
  • Furthermore, this role will interact with the larger development team, share design and solutions, and contribute to the overall objectives of the development team.
Qualifications and Skills
  • 3-10years of professionalwork experience involving software development and systems implementation.Ability to design/architecta software solution.Professional experiencein building enterprise quality software solutions in multi-technology environments and solid understanding of the impact of changes to the environments.
  • Proficient in C# programming language and Microsoft .NET
  • Experience with C or C++ programming
  • Database concepts, coding with experience in relational database preferably SQL Server
  • Experience with Python is a plus
  • Development experience in Web technologies - ASP.NET, MVC, JQuery, JavaScript, IIS and Angular is a plus
  • Expertise in in WEB API (REST services) and Web Servicesis a plus
  • Experience with Fixed Income business and products as a plus
  • Undergraduate or graduate preparation in computer science from a top-tier computer science program (or equivalent).
