Overview
Clinical Nurse (RN) - West Des Moines Internal Medicine Clinic West Des Moines, Iowa Shifts: 4 10-hour days, 7:00 am-5:30 pm with Mondays OFF $5000.00 sign on bonus for external candidates!
Responsibilities
In this role, you will provide high-quality care to adult patients with a range of acute and chronic medical conditions. You will work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers to support patient care through assessments, treatments, and patient education. This role will work with a primary provider in the clinic, but perform team-based care as needed. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient rooming, including taking vital signs, reviewing medical histories, and assisting with physical exams.
- Administer medications, injections, and vaccinations as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Provide wound care and other clinical procedures as needed.
- Perform routine diagnostic tests, including blood draws, EKGs, and point-of-care testing.
- Document patient interactions, treatments, and medications accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Educate patients and their families on managing health conditions, medications, and follow-up care.
- Coordinate care with other departments, specialists, and community resources as needed.
- Ensure exam rooms are prepared, stocked, and sanitized between patients.
- Assist in answering phone calls from patients regarding symptoms, medication refills, and follow-up care.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa.
- Prior work experience in a clinical setting, preferably in internal medicine, primary care, or a related field.
- Proficiency with administering medications, providing patient education, and performing clinical procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- BLS certification and Mandatory Reporter required.
