Requisition ID req31411 Working Title Surplus Property: General Services Assistant Position Grade 05 Position Summary The University of New Mexico, Office of the University Controller, also known as Financial Services, located on Main Campus is responsible for all central accounting functions for the University. It is the responsibility of the Controller's Office to ensure compliance with all financial policies, rules, and regulations adopted by the University or imposed by external agencies, including state and federal audit requirements, following generally accepted accounting practices. Additionally, the Organization oversees the maintenance of the official financial records of the University. Within Financial Services is UNM's Surplus Property which is responsible for providing critical services across UNM's Campuses. The department is seeking a hardworking, motivated individual with exceptional work ethic to join their team in the role of General Services Assistant. We are seeking a candidate with great work ethic for a position involving strenuous activities, including stair climbing and heavy lifting (over 50 pounds). The role supports UNM Surplus Property in managing and disposing of both inventoried and non-inventoried University equipment that is no longer in use. Responsibilities include operating vehicles and forklifts, handling electronic devices and mechanical equipment for loading/unloading, and assisting the department Supervisor with inventory management and auction preparations. Strong physical stamina and a proactive approach are essential for success in this role. Why Join Us? Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
