The Neuroscience Institute, part of the Dietrich College, is seeking an Undergraduate Research Assistant to join the team. The Research Assistant will help advance the research initiatives of Dr. Shinn-Cunningham's Lab in Multisensory Neuroscience (LiMN) while promoting the collaborative neuroscience community among CMU and Pitt.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Working with participants to gather data during in-person experiments examining language perception and hearing
  • Learning how to calibrate and use research equipment such as an eye tracker, audiometer, and experimental software
  • Organizing and managing research documentation
  • Assisting with data consolidation and analysis in Excel and R
  • Collaborating with researchers from many different backgrounds and skill sets to design and refine novel paradigms

You should demonstrate:

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail; keep and maintain accurate and detailed reports and records.
  • Ability to maintain composure when dealing with difficult situations and/or individuals.
  • Ability to understand and follow directives and assignments.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
