About the Department/School/Area

The Department of Teacher Education in the College of Education at Texas Tech University is seeking a dynamic educator to serve as a full-time face-to-face lecturer in the innovative Tech Teach program. Tech Teach, is a district-based, undergraduate teacher preparation program designed to serve as a "talent pipeline" for partner districts. The program is clinically intensive, competency-based, and focused on measurably improving student achievement. Tech Teach will focus on the preparation and certification of undergraduate teacher candidates for inclusive teaching in K-12 classrooms.

Major/Essential Functions

Teaches face-to-face and/or online undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Teacher Education Department of the College of Education.

Faculty Qualifications

Successful applicants for this position will have these qualifications and qualities:

  • Master's degree in Education related field
  • Record of 3 years of successful teaching as the teacher of record in public schools
  • Current or recent state teaching certifications. (Texas preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to these requirements, the following qualifications are also desirable:

  • Experience teaching and/or working in a higher education institution
  • Demonstrated ability to teach effectively
  • Use of strong and positive communication skills within a professional setting, exhibit disposition for technology use, collaboration, and school-based initiatives
  • Administrative experience at the campus, district, or IHE level, and a commitment to earning a terminal degree at Texas Tech (if not already earned)

Schedule Details

Some field based instructors will observe students, so some travel will be required. Classes are conducted at various times throughout the day and evening.
