Department Information The Georgia Tech Athletic Associate (GTAA) sponsors varsity intercollegiate athletics competition in 17 NCAA Division I sports for the Georgia Institute of Technology. We are a proud member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Job Summary Provide specialized landscape and grounds maintenance services in support of horticulturists to include plantings, chemical applications and equipment maintenance. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: supervisor and coworkers. This position typically will advise and counsel: grounds keeping personnel. This position will supervise: NA. Responsibilities Job Duty 1 - Perform horticultural related maintenance of trees, shrubs, groundcovers and flower beds. Job Duty 2 - Transport equipment and personnel via motor vehicle to and from job sites. Job Duty 3 - Provide instructions to landscaping crews as required. Job Duty 4 - Lead in and perform lawn maintenance activities. Job Duty 5 - Keeps landscape and grounds free of debris. Job Duty 6 - Apply appropriate chemicals to lawn, trees, shrubs, groundcover, and flower. Job Duty 7 - Perform routine maintenance of equipment. Job Duty 8 - Complete daily grounds maintenance reports. Job Duty 9 - Train new employees in horticultural related duties; promote safe working practices. Job Duty 10 - Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Educational Requirements High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma Required Experience Two to three years of job related experience Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities SKILLS This job requires working knowledge of horticultural support processes and practices including application of chemicals and operation and maintenance of related equipment, use of radio communications equipment and operation of a motor vehicle. Skills in providing work direction and training are required.
