Position Summary

The TCW Communications function is broadly responsible for building and managing the Firm's reputation among its key stakeholders. The Communications Associate is a role that spans external communications/media relations, internal communications, and executive communications and works closely with the Head of Corporate Communications. The Communications Associate will act as one of TCW's company spokespeople and be a key liaison with the financial media. The successful candidate will coordinate closely and regularly with several areas of the firm, including executive leadership, marketing, distribution, investment teams, and compliance to help create outcomes that promote the growth of the overall business.

This position is based in either New York or Los Angeles and reports to TCW's Head of Corporate Communications.



Essential Duties

    Engage in proactive media relations to help raise the profile of TCW, its products, and investment expertise.
  • Evaluate and manage inbound media requests.
  • Create communications collateral material such as message points and briefing materials.
  • Develop internal communications strategies and materials.
  • Work closely with the Head of Corporate Communications in managing external communications agencies.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism with internal clients, members of the media, and vendors.


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Communications experience either in-house or agency.
  • 5+ years focusing on financial services communications, preferably asset management.
  • Strong media relations experience and demonstrated ability to build reporter relationships.
  • Experience with internal communications.
  • Proficient in MS Office and comfortable learning new systems or software.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and interact well with all levels of the organization.


Desired Qualifications

Travel: Less than 25%

Estimated Compensation:

Base Salary: For NY & CA based position, the base salary range is $120K-$150K. This is an anticipated range and represents base salary only.

Other Compensation: Eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus.
