Overview

As the Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Altour, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of technology strategy, product, reporting, implementation, operations, and resources.

You will play a crucial role in driving digital transformation, enhancing the customer experience, and improving operational efficiency through the effective use of technology solutions.

This is a leadership position that requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, thought leadership, technical expertise, financial knowledge, and business acumen.

The salary range on this job posting/advertising has been developed to give applicants a wide range to comply with pay transparency laws in all states and geographical areas. Many factors, such as years of experience, geographical location, budget etc. are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. The salary range posted represents the pay range for U.S. candidates. Responsibilities

Strategic planning and Executive Leadership:

    Act as a liaison and collaborate with executive leadership, technology providers, cross-functional teams as well as cross-divisional businesses to determine effective solutions (existing or new) for all Altour business units.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global technology strategy aligned with the organization's overall business objectives, ensuring that technology initiatives drive growth, innovation, and competitive advantage in the travel industry.
  • Drive process improvement to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
  • Support service delivery teams to drive new technology initiatives and overall adoption.
  • Responsible for Altour global consumer, advisor and internal facing technology products and solutions from conception through post-production support.
  • Attend and contribute to Altour leadership and strategy meetings.
  • knowledgeable in leading multi-faceted projects within a corporate & leisure travel environment.
  • Demonstrate expertise in travel related products and services in the following travel categories (Air, Car, Hotel, Cruise, Tour, Insurance, leisure, and MICE).
  • Adhere to IT governance processes, including project prioritization, resource allocation, risk management and information security.
  • Evaluate and select technology vendors and partners, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services.
  • Monitor vendor performance and enforce service-level agreements.
  • Build and lead a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, promoting their professional growth and development.
  • In partnership with Altour leadership, IT and Accounting develop and manage the IT department budget, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and investment in strategic initiatives.
  • Act as a thought leader, providing insights and recommendations on technology trends and best practices.
  • Support Altour's AI strategy and initiatives while adhering to Internova's AI policies and processes. This includes attendance and contribution within Internova's AI steering committee.

Reporting Definition:

  • Oversee and manage internal and client reporting teams.
  • Collaborate with cross functional reporting teams within Internova business units and align with Internova's data management team for support, process improvements and alignment of data management best practices.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and organize large amounts of data.
  • Ability to consolidate and streamline reporting and analytic processes to create efficiencies, data accuracy and reduce expense.

Product Definition:

  • Oversee product requirement elicitation for next generation Altour consumer, advisor and employee facing business applications based on business needs, goals, market research, as well as corporate goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for the evolution of the Altour product roadmap (cross application, cross business unit and cross functional teams).
  • Oversee product competitive analysis and know or influence market direction.
  • Track industry trends to stay current on evolving business needs.
  • Validate product enhancements with key stakeholders.
  • Manage vendor stakeholder cost, scope, tollgates, deliverables, and provide executive leadership visibility.

Program/Project Management:

  • Support development, maintenance, and execution of project plans across multiple internal departments and external organizations.
  • Foresee critical path milestones and initiate risk mitigation strategies to deliver projects without disruption.
  • Identify and manage project resources from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Ensure issue logs for tracking are in place and team members are working to resolve open issues in timely manner to minimize impact to projects.
  • Produce project status updates to leadership as necessary.
  • Oversee 3rd party application development firms contracted to code, unit, and system test Altour applications and travel management solutions.
  • Coordinate the management of packaged software vendors through the implementation cycle to include: business process definition and mapping, application configuration, data integration, pilot, prototype, and go live.

Product Support, Training, and Marketing:

  • Oversee new applications and new product enhancements into production environments.
  • Ensure team is troubleshooting, tracking, documenting, and assigning severities to incoming application bugs.
  • Establish software patch and maintenance releases based on need (user drop off, lost transactions) with software providers/hosting firms.
  • Mandate established launch plans and user roll outs are executed as designed.
  • Foster broader product and user education via train the trainer mindset. Facilitate the development of training materials


Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of software product or project management experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of team management experience, preferably with remote staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Project Management, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Travel industry expertise with hands-on experience in travel-related applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of travel industry trends, emerging technologies, and IT management best practices.
  • Proficient in product management lifecycle tools and multiple development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, waterfall).
  • In depth knowledge of various project tracking and business reporting tools.
  • Successful track record of on-time and on-budget project delivery.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate across business units and achieve consensus.
  • Strong multitasking skills.
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen to align technology initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated leadership in large-scale technology projects and complex IT landscapes.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Effective vendor management and negotiation abilities.

  • Proven expertise in budgeting, financial management, and ROI analysis.
  • Knowledge of and real life exposure to Artificial intelligence implementations that drive organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
